01
What does a FiveM server cost?
No asterisks, no arithmetic.
With us a FiveM server starts at €14.99 per month, with 32 slots as the entry size. For context: on the market, 6 to 8 GB of RAM for an ESX or QBCore server with 32 to 64 slots typically costs €7 to €15 per month, and large roleplay servers with 12 GB or more sit between €15 and €30.
That does not make us the cheapest provider, and we would rather say so ourselves than have you find out while comparing. Prepaid hosts start at around €4. The difference is in what does not cost extra here: DDoS protection, backups, txAdmin, and support that still answers when the problem is in your framework rather than in the server.
- Priced by slots, what you actually pay
- The price follows slots and resources, not a package name. You can book 8 to 128 slots and change that number at any time in the customer portal, up as well as down. So you are not locked into a size you cannot possibly know yet.
- Why no VAT is added
- Under § 19 of the German VAT Act we do not charge VAT. The price quoted is therefore the final price, nothing is added on top. The fair counterpoint belongs here too: as a business customer you also get no input tax deduction, because no VAT is shown. For private operators that is an advantage; for companies it is a line in the calculation.
02
How much RAM and how many slots does a FiveM server need?
Rules of thumb, not a sales pitch.
The honest answer to both questions is the same: it depends on your resources, not on your player count. You still need a starting point, here it is.
| Server type | RAM | Slots |
|---|---|---|
| Vanilla, just trying things out | from 4 GB | 8–32 |
| ESX or QBCore, ordinary script stack | 6–8 GB | 32–64 |
| Large roleplay server | from 12 GB | 64+ |
| Grown RP server, lots of custom work | 16–32 GB | 64–128 |
The mistake almost every guide leaves standing
It is not your player count that eats memory, it is the number and quality of your resources. Two hundred poorly optimised scripts cost you more performance than a hundred extra players. Anyone looking only at the slot count is buying past the actual problem.
Change slots later instead of guessing up front
Count what is online at the same time, not your Discord member count. A young RP server usually does fine on 32 slots. Once you regularly have a full queue, the jump to 64 is due, and from there server performance matters more than the slot count. Start small and grow into it.
03
ESX, QBCore and txAdmin on your FiveM server
Your framework, not ours.
We do not prescribe a framework and we do not force a preinstall. Every route is open, and support helps you even when the framework is not ours.
- ESX Legacy
- Runs without special treatment. Database access, server.cfg and every resource folder are yours, you install and configure exactly as you would on your own machine.
- QBCore and Qbox
- Equally open. Job, inventory and housing scripts you bring yourself or rewrite; we lock nothing away and keep no whitelist of permitted resources.
- Standalone, no framework
- A fully custom build is just as expected as a ready-made framework. If you write your server from scratch, nothing here gets in your way.
- txAdmin, live console and server.cfg
- txAdmin is there, it is the feature people filter for first when comparing hosts. Alongside it, a live console with command input directly in the customer portal instead of a third-party panel, and a freely editable server.cfg.
04
Upload your own MLOs, scripts and vehicles
Full file rights, no whitelist.
You have full access to your server's file system, through the file manager in the customer portal or over SFTP with FileZilla or WinSCP, with a dedicated SFTP account per server. You need no approval from us; the limit is the storage in your plan, not our permission.
Installing an MLO, in four steps
Upload the MLO's folder into resources/.
Add a line ensure <foldername> to your server.cfg.
Restart the server.
Teleport to the spot in game and check the interior, collision and lighting.
The most common cause of trouble is two mappings loading the same interior at the same coordinates, that produces invisible walls, or floors you fall straight through.

Measure performance in resmon
Type resmon 1 in the F8 console and you see the tick time of every single resource in milliseconds. That is the number that matters when your server stutters, not the slot count. Our standard for our own assets is 0.00 ms at idle. That is a statement about assets from our studio, not about everything that ends up on your server: a bought-in script can push your tick time up regardless of us.

Included, not an upsell.
DDoS protection for your FiveM server
Layer 4 DDoS filtering is included on all our game servers and costs nothing extra. There is nothing to enable and nothing to add to your order.
Layer 7 protection for large communities
For heavily trafficked FiveM communities we extend this to layer 7 protection free of charge on request. Tell us before the first wave hits, not during it.
What you can do yourself
- Do not post the real server IP in Discord or on your website.
- Keep scripts and framework up to date.
- Assign admin rights per person in the portal instead of passing passwords around.
What we commit to on availability is written in the Service Level Agreement & Acceptable Use Policy.
06
FiveM server, VPS or dedicated server, what fits you?
Honest, even when the cheaper product wins.
This table deliberately does not end up at the game server in every row. If the VPS is the better buy for you, it says so here.
If you are just starting out, take the game server. If you already have someone on the team who administers Linux, and you want to run two or three servers in parallel or need your own database stack, the VPS is the better choice, even though it costs us the easier sale in the short run.
| Game server | VPS with root | |
|---|---|---|
| Setup | Done: FiveM build, txAdmin, console | You install everything yourself |
| Root access | No, but full file access | Yes |
| OS patching | We do it | You do it |
| Multiple servers | One order per server | Several on one machine |
| Own database stack | Database included, not freely chosen | Free choice |
| Worth it from | Your first server | Your second or third server |

Renting a FiveM server in Germany and the Netherlands
Short routes, a real address.
- Latency across the DACH region
- Our data centres are in Germany and the Netherlands. For a roleplay server with a mostly German-speaking community that is the difference between smooth play and rubber-banding through every chase.
- Data centres and certification
- Our data centres are ISO 27001 certified, the certificate belongs to the operator of those data centres, not to us, and we word that deliberately. Add to that GDPR-compliant data processing, German invoicing and a legal notice with a real address in Schwarzenfeld rather than a foreign PO box.
09
MLOs, mappings and scripts from our own production
We build worlds, and we run them.
This is where we differ from every other host in this comparison: the asset and the server come from the same company. When an MLO causes performance trouble, one contact sees both sides, the build and the machine it runs on.
Finished assets are in our shop. Bespoke studio commissions we currently accept only selectively, we would rather say that up front than leave you waiting after an enquiry.

Frequently asked questions about renting a FiveM server
Answered briefly.
01
What does a FiveM server cost?
With us a FiveM server starts at €14.99 per month; the entry size in the catalogue is 32 slots, and you can book 8 to 128. That is the final price, under § 19 of the German VAT Act we charge no VAT, so nothing is added on top. For context: on the market, 6–8 GB of RAM for an ESX or QBCore server with 32–64 slots typically costs €7–15 per month, and large RP servers with 12 GB or more sit at €15–30. That does not make us the cheapest provider, but DDoS protection, backups, txAdmin and framework support are included and never reappear as a surcharge.
02
How much RAM do I need for a FiveM server?
For a bare vanilla server to try things out, 4 GB is enough. Once ESX or QBCore arrives with the usual job, inventory and housing scripts, plan for 6 to 8 GB; beyond 64 slots and a script stack grown over months, 16 to 32 GB is realistic. The most important rule of thumb rarely makes it into guides: it is not your player count that eats memory, it is the number and quality of your resources. Two hundred poorly optimised scripts cost you more than a hundred extra players.
03
How many slots does my roleplay server need?
Count what is online at the same time, not your Discord member count. A young RP server usually does fine on 32 slots; once you regularly have a full queue, the jump to 64 is due, and from there server performance matters more than the slot count. You can book 8 to 128 slots with us and change that number at any time in the customer portal, up or down. Start small and grow into it rather than paying six months for seats that stay empty.
04
Does ESX or QBCore run on your FiveM server?
Yes, both, and Qbox, or a fully standalone build, just the same. You get full file access via the file manager and SFTP plus txAdmin, and you install the framework exactly as you would on your own server; we prescribe nothing and block nothing. If you get stuck setting it up, our support still helps, even though the framework is not ours. That is precisely the difference from hosts whose support stops at the word “ESX”.
05
Can I upload my own MLOs, scripts and vehicles?
Yes. You have full access to your server's file system, through the file manager in the customer portal or over SFTP with FileZilla or WinSCP. Your own MLOs, scripts, vehicles and streaming assets go into the resources folder, get an entry in server.cfg, and a restart activates them. You need no approval from us; the limit is the storage in your plan, not our permission.
06
How do I install an MLO on my FiveM server?
In four steps: upload the MLO's folder into resources/, add a line ensure <foldername> to server.cfg, restart the server, then teleport to the spot in game and check that the interior, collision and lighting are right. The most common cause of trouble is two mappings loading the same interior at the same coordinates, that produces invisible walls, or floors you fall straight through. MLOs from our studio come with installation instructions, and if your server runs with us you get installation support directly from us instead of through a ticket detour.
07
Do I need a dedicated server for FiveM or is a VPS enough?
Both work, the question is where you want to spend your time. A game server with us arrives set up: FiveM build, txAdmin, console, backups and DDoS protection are there, and you start at server.cfg. A VPS with root access gives you more freedom, your own database stack, several servers on one machine, your own panel, but you handle the operating system, updates and hardening yourself. If you are just starting out, take the game server; if you already have someone on the team who administers Linux, the VPS pays off from the second or third server.
08
Is FiveM hosting legal?
Yes. FiveM is a modification platform officially supported by Rockstar Games, the Cfx.re team has been part of Rockstar since 2019, and running your own server is expressly intended. You need a free server key from the Cfx.re keymaster, and every player on your server must legally own GTA V. Anything you sell on your server is additionally subject to the Cfx.re terms of service, stick to them and the legal side is uncritical. This is our assessment as a host and does not replace legal advice.
09
How do I protect my FiveM server from DDoS?
You do not have to set up the basic protection at all: layer 4 DDoS filtering is included on all our game servers and costs nothing extra. For heavily trafficked FiveM communities we extend this to layer 7 protection free of charge on request, just tell us before the first wave hits. What you can contribute: do not post the real server IP in Discord or on your website, keep scripts and framework up to date, and assign admin rights per person in the portal instead of passing passwords around.
10
How long does it take to set up my FiveM server?
Provisioning is automatic: after your order the server deploys without any action from you and is reachable within minutes, with console, file access and txAdmin. What takes time after that is up to you: a vanilla server is playable in a quarter of an hour, while an ESX or QBCore setup with database, jobs and inventory realistically costs you an evening to a weekend. So the waiting is not on our side but on your framework, and we help you when you get stuck.

Your server is waiting.
Rent a FiveM server, get started
Configure it straight away in the shop, or ask first if you are unsure which size fits your project. We prefer either to an order that does not fit.
